A gentleman’s only club

It was a gentleman’s invite-only affair at the launch of the Glenlivet Nàdurra First Fill selection. This one of a kind experience had guests enjoying the unique sounds of HHP in collaboration with The Soweto String Quartet while savoring the new distilled taste of the premium scotch whiskey. And like any other gentleman’s club hosting us for the night was comedian Lazola Gola and whiskey expert, Peter Methven who took us through the 200 year old history of the brand.

Despite not being a whiskey consumer, the unique rare craft of the single malt whiskey was strong to the nose but definitely smooth on the palate and surprisingly it left a sweet taste of pineapple, banana toffee and a vanilla after taste, which was definitely pleasing to my palate.

While enjoying the heartwarming distilled taste of the man’s drink, 35 year old HHP took to stage to express his excitement to be engaged to his longtime girlfriend Lerato Sengadi who was seen supporting in the crowd. The rapper in collaboration with Soweto string quartet opened the dancefloor with old school hits from Miriam Makeba and had the crowd singing along to his classics jabba, music and lights and a wide selection of kwaito music. The musical jam session showcased Jabba’s new dabbing moves and the quartet’s wide range of musical ability.

In the crowd legendary Doctor Khumalo, actor Thabo Rametsi, 7764 hit-maker Jimmy Nevis, actress Renate Stuurman and Richard Lukunku with his lovely wife and actress Nozipho Nkelemba were seen savoring the scotch whiskey.
