This slideshow requires JavaScript.10 October 2011. This is overdue, but I thought it’s something I have to share with my viewers.
My matric dinner, yes dinner, my school does not believe in having a dance, because let’s face it, who really gets on the dance floor and dances in those “expensive” clothes you thought about months before the actual day? Therefore a more intermit, semi-elegant night was created in our marvellous black-box theatre, they really did put their best foot forward as they created a memorable night for the matrics.
One thing I remember is, I didn’t want my dress tailor made, less stress because I’m a perfectionist and if something is wrong with the dress,
1) I would never want to wear the dress, rather stay at home 2) I would throw a tantrum,
plus I had too much on my plate to worry about a dress. I did not want it bought either, from around, because I may run into the DANGER of somebody wearing it too and that is sooooo not uber.
THEN…
My sister came to the rescue. For the night I was dressed by Macys and forever21, make-up was done by yours truly, I believe in neutral colours, so not much was done and I thank the Lord for giving me great features so not much make-up is required on this face *smile with a wink*
The night started let’s say 19h00, the usual happened, check the dresses, drinks, mingle, speeches, pictures, compliments etc.
THEN THE FOOD!!!!
Okay pass that. But it was good though, my favourite section had to be the meat and salads, yes it was a buffet.
And that’s it. My highlights of the night had to be walking down the stairs of the amphitheatre, THIS held many memories, due to being the MC at our grand opening in March 2011 and THIS was the last time I walk those stairs like that, as well as when our headmaster shared his last words with us, as we joined hand for the last time.
Going through the pictures make me re-live the night all over again, enjoy, laugh, ask yourself WHAT THE… Cause that is what I did that night, distinguish the pretty to the … (No comment), the well dressed to the… *raised brow, really* NOT FORGETTING THE WEAVES, I’m sure you’re going to spot what I’m talking about.
N.B don’t like most of the shots they took of me. But its done.
Matric dance done and dusted.
