Working out just keeps getting more fashionable and the new kid on the block Runbase in Braamfontein intends to inspire a whole new culture of working out. Situated in the heart of Braamfontein, Runbase is close to local hang out spot, Neighbourhoods Food Market.
On a night out, Adidas gathered an exclusive crowd of urban runners who would put to test the PureBOOSTX range on a 3km run across the city. This super sleek running shoe is form fitting, crafted to fit the mold of the female foot. The PureBoostX range features a new adaptive stretch mesh, giving you a sock like feel and a floating arch that’s adaptive and supports the arch of the foot, giving a whole new feel to running and the ultimate energy to get through any running challenge you put yourself up to, even Constitutional Hill. The trendy design by Stella McCartney definitely makes a statement with their purple and pink mixture, with a touch of floral on the lace.
Director of Adidas Running, Emerging Markets, Kate Woods said, “RunBase is a home of energy running, where it intends to create a national movement of runners. It’s a space where friends can come to and hang out together, not only to run, it’s a space where they’ll be able to do some yoga and stretch classes. It’s really a space we can all connect with each other and create energy running.”
After putting the super gear to test the kitchen was stocked up on some unlimited crafty bites for the night with a generous supply of delicious cocktails. We enjoyed the night to a backdrop view of the trendy Amanda Du Point who was spotted with her fitness trainer, Mapule Ndhlovu. “It’s beautiful to see that we finally getting to a space where we can all workout. It’s beautiful to see that we are starting to not only look after our bodies and our health. It’s becoming fun to exercise and to look after our health. A couple of years ago it was not a thing amongst people of colour to be health conscious and fitness was not important. It nice to see that we are becoming more aware of our bodies,” said Amanda.
The Stella McCartney Range will be available in Adidas retail stores on February 12. Runbase Braam will only open on February 13, and in Cape Town at the V&A waterfront in March.
The collection is available from R449 – R2500.
